It was a fine Saturday morning and I was sitting with my fully loaded brand new Canon EOS 70D DSLR camera in hand. The feel of carrying the massive 740 gram beast in hand was awesome and I was fully amused on the outcomes that it can deliver. Just loaded the 50mm 1.8 Prime lens that came with the bundle and I was all set to go for my first Indoor Photography adventure.
A debate on the best DSLR camera for photography is right here.
My first Indoor Photography
I fell in thoughts again, what I could photograph first with my DSLR camera. I wanted to capture something special as a first shot of my EOS 70D. Immersed in deep thought, just raised the camera to look through the view finder. I found the view quite unclear and reminded of myself that the half press of shooter will focus things crisp. While attempting the half press to focus, pressed a way too deep and the shutter released. Astonished and opened the LCD screen in tension just to see an amazing shot with perfect focus (The last but one photo in the attached pictures). My very first Indoor photograph. That’s the moment i really understood what a DSLR camera can do the best to me.

Then what? with an immense confidence, started my photo walk around the white orchid flower pot right in my house. Looks like worth giving a look, Won’t you .?
Indoor photo shoot – White Orchids
DSLR Composition details : F/2.8, 1/60, ISO160
Lens Used to Photograph : Prime Lens 50mm F/1.8 II
Just looking at this photograph, we know the reason behind calling the F/2.8 the sweet spot focal stop. With the aperture measuring F/2.8 and a shutter of 60 with ISO little above the lower limit of 100 to compensate the indoor lighting conditions.
DSLR Composition details : F/3.2, 1/60, ISO160
Lens Used to Photograph : Prime Lens 50mm F/1.8 II
With the aperture measuring 3.2 and a shutter of 60 with ISO well above the desire ISO 100 to compensate the little long range given the indoor lighting conditions. Considerably a better photo outcome i would say.
DSLR Composition details : F/2.8, 1/250, ISO800
Lens Used to Photograph : Prime Lens 50mm F/1.8 II
Hitting the sweet spot F2.8 again with a relatively faster shutter of 250th of a second comparing to the previous shots of 60th of a second, I could cover a wider perspective with this DSLR shot. The blurring of the background in the state of the art from high aperture and shutter combo.
DSLR Composition details : F/2.8, 1/400, ISO800
Lens Used to Photograph : Prime Lens 50mm F/1.8 II
With the same aperture of F2.8 and even faster shutter speed of 800th of a second with a step back to cover the complete pot. Purposefully the lower portion of this photo are black to appreciate the white orchids at the top. Again ISO800 to match the indoor gloomy appearance.
